Conway Twitty Tribute
Dave Parsons is now doing a Conway Twitty Tribute.
If you’ve ever heard songs like Hello Darlin, Linda On My Mind, Tight Fittin Jeans, That’s My Job, The Rose, Saturday Night Special, Fifteen Years Ago, It’s Only Make Believe and the list goes on and on, then you’ve heard the unmistakable voice of Conway Twitty. The only performer up to just a year ago who held the record for number one hits. 55 all together. More than The Beatles, More than Elvis, More than anyone. This was all achieved before his untimely death in 1993.
You could get all the information you want on Conway from the internet. It is just my ambition here to tell you what a very big Country star this man was. To get number one hits you need to sell a lot of records, and to sell a lot of records you need major play on the radio. To get major play on the radio you need people calling in and asking for the material. This should give you some idea of the fan base of Conway Twitty.. Very huge.
Although he has gone from us you can still hear his songs on the radio day after day. What an impact. Conway stands among the great legends such as Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline and others we hear daily on radio even though they are no longer with us.
You could never go to a Conway Twitty appearance and find a lot of empty seats. Pretty much everywhere he went he packed the house. Long gone and sadly missed are the days of Conway Twitty.
