LIFE EXPERIENCES OF

DAVE PARSONS

Experience:

As a kid in the 1960’s I performed on a television show and various churches in Ohio and Florida.

In the mid 70’s I recorded with Billy Walker ( producer of the Johnny Cash show and other country music shows). I did two original recordings with him and the Tennessee Two and then he called me to come back and do two more at his expense. I also did a television show with the Marty Robbins Band and Patsy Stoneman in Lima Ohio. My brother in law at the time was Jimmy Stephens. He got me on the Jamboree upstairs radio show once. Joann Davis is my sister.

From mid 70’s to the early 80’s I had my own group called Dave Parsons and the Family Tradition Band. The top radio station at that time was W.M.N.I and they had me and my band back up their Nashville Artist when they had local appearances. When they advertised in the media they always stated that we were country favorites. We opened for such acts as John Anderson, Russ Allison, Robert Fuller and Steve Wariner to name a few.

In 1989 I received a plaque from The Country Music Association in Ohio (over 2000 strong at the time ) awarding me The song of the year I wrote and recorded called “Mama’s Tear Stained Pillow. “

In 1990 I moved to Nashville Tennessee and had the following experiences:

1. Met and hired a lady by the name of Debby Swayne to be my producer and manager.

Debby was instrumental in getting the New Kids On The Block started. Debby was

also close friends with Bob Doyle (Garth Brooks manger) who gave me material to

record and helped in planning stages of my career.

2. Jack Mcfadden offered co management on me. ( Manager of Buck Owens and Billy

Ray Cyrus). We declined.

3. Danny Day, one of my producers was offered a label position for me by Curb

Records, Mercury Polygram, Capitol of Nashville, BNA Records. We never pushed

the issues waiting on better deals.

4. Dick McVey (George Jones Manager) put me in a group called the Nashville

Country Music Revue Show managed by Richard Johnson. I was offered a position

to open for the Grand Old Opry Road show in 1992 with this group. I would have

been the headliner with a young lady named Leann Rimes at the time. I declined.

5. Bobby Seymour of Nashville Tennessee and Hee Haw offered co management on me.

6. Several Recordings to my credit from these years.

7. Performed in a show with John Hughey (Conway Twittys Steel Player ) I was invited

I was invited to do some old Conway stuff with him in April of 2006.

Moved back to Ohio in 1991 to present:

1. Have appeared on many top notch Country Shows.

A) Wheeling Vaudeville Theater several times for Doc Brown.

B) Muskingham Valley Jubilee in Zanesville Ohio.

C) Logan Ohio Country show. Several times.

D) Hillsboro Ohio Old Time Country Theater several times. .

E) Many State Fair and Festival appearances.

Note: Can check on performances. I worked well with the crowds and was one of their top acts. Always welcome to come back.

Conclusion :

I have probably forgotten as many experiences as I have remembered. Others have touched my career along the way such as Jack Patton ( writer of Riders in the Sky) and personal manager of Bobby Vinton, Walt Seals ( personal show promotions), Bill Anderson ( Looked at some song material I wrote), Larry Henley ( the Wind Beneath my Wings), Don Daschel (Hee Haw Producer) Mike (Chikenhawk ) Toppins (playing steel for Pam Tillis currently, Dick McVeigh ( George Jones Manager) and many others. All have given me direction and advise along the way.

Currently sing and play with many groups around the Tri State Area.

I can sing lead and many different harmonies, I play Guitar, Keyboard, Dobro, banjo.
